Pokémon Battle League community,
I don't even know where to begin. I am simultaneously awestruck that this place still even exists and guilty that I haven't been checking in more often. Last time I posted here was in 2014, after I'd recently gotten a 3DS and a copy of Pokémon Y, and before that, 2011, I think (I'm seeing a pattern of three year gaps here). I'm sorry for such sporadic activity, but as I'm sure most everyone here understands, life is often a rollercoaster.
A quick update on me: I'm currently working full time as an editor at an online education company (in fact, I run a team of about 10 people), I have an amazing woman in my life, and, of course, I still play a ton of video games. I haven't strayed far from Nintendo, or Pokémon, for that matter. In fact, I have a ton of hours in Sun, am currently working my way through Gold on the 3DS Virtual Console, and am eagerly anticipating Ultra Sun and Moon in a couple months.
After seeing that there is still some life here, along with Roku's "Thank You" post, I just wanted to say that I appreciate every single person here who has posted, battled, traded, or simply just discussed the one thing we all have in common: a love for Pokémon. Whether it was an integral part of our childhoods or just a game we ended up playing and enjoying, it's the one thing that brought us all here and the one thing that will keep many of us around, even if only in spirit. I first created this forum in 2008, when I was still in high school. That's crazy for me to think about. At that time, Diamond and Pearl were out in the wild, and it was the first time Pokémon battling and trading went online, and I wanted a place to join with likeminded people and put a competitive spin on the series I loved so much. Thus, PBL was born. Since it's endured through the generations—perhaps not with the activity we'd all have liked, but somehow it persisted. I owe that all to you, the community. Sure, there might be more popular forums out there, but never did I find a place that made me feel at home like I did here.
In short, thank you all. I might have started this adventure, but you all kept it alive.
Thank you.
-Nick
P.S. - I'll stick around a bit to see who replies, but in case I don't pop back on, I want everyone here to be able to find me. I still consider you all great friends.

Also, in pursuing my ultimate goal of writing about games for a living, I've been running my own Nintendo news/reviews site, SwitchJoy, which can be found here: switchjoy.net/
