The CPR wasn't working on her. There was blood all over her and so many machines seemed to be going off that it made Doctor Chamberland a little bit crazy. There were nurses pouring in and out of the room quicker than the room had any room for. The room was ballistic with commotion. Doctor Chamberland had almost no room to do anything for the girl because nurses were bumping into him left and right without giving a thought that he was helping the girl. Everyone wanted in on this surgery.
"Dammit! Give me some space before I get all of you fired. I only need three of you. The rest of you better leave." Doctor Chamberland said with a kind of furiosity in his eyes. The nurses all scrambled up. One bumping into another one because they all seemed to demand to stay and help with the surgery.
"You know what? Fine! I only want you two and the head nurse to stay!" He yelled
"Doctor? I am the head nurse." Claimed on of the nurses he pointed at.
"Fine then! You two stay and the rest of you leave before things get ugly with you all." Doctor Chamberland shouted. "Now you! Get me some sterilized scapals over here now."
"Oh nuts!" The nurse shouted as the other nurses grumpily left the room, "There aren't any in here."
"Then do your job and go get some!" He shouted at her
The nurse left and came back sooner than Doctor Chamberland could have hoped for. She had a tray of scapal ans was walking as perfectly as the actors on T.V. do when they are nurses. She brought them to Doctor Chamberland while he was continuind CPR. He took one of the scapals and quickly examined it. He sat it down and made all of the necessary preperations to cut her open. As soon as he was done, he put on some globes and picked the scapal back up.
He cut her open and her sliced chest as gently up as she could. He examined her, but it didn't take long to see what was wrong. One of her arteries had been deeply cut and was gushing out blood faster than he could imagine. One of the nurses screamed, but stopped when he started glaring at her.
"Nurse? Get me some sutures now!" Doctor Chamberland shouted.
"Coming!" Said the head nurse carrying sutures for him. Chamberland took the sutures without checking them and started sewing her artery back. He spent a good little bit on it before he got halfway through.
"Doctor? Doctor? It's time to pull the plug," The head nurse said with a tear in her eye, "she's gone. We couldn't save her. God just didn't mean for her to live, today."
"You Christian brats make me sick. Clean her up and move on with your work, and stop crying, Dammit!"
The nurse turned away so that she could wipe her tears and went to clean the body. Chamberland removed his gloves and threw them away. He cleaned himself up and walked out towards his car. He drove home in his convertable like he did every day. Got out of the car and walked to the door. He started fumbling with his keys, dropping them after a second, then picking them back up and unlocking his door. He went to the fridge and got a beer. He sat himself on his couch and started watching T.V. as if nothing had happened.
He did all that he could do in his power to save her life. The only thing was, his power didn't let him save her. The nurse was write, God didn't mean for her to live that day and deep down inside Doctor Chamberland knew that. He knew that it was not completely in his hands to decide her fate, and because he tried, he was able to go to sleep peacefully that night.
